In 2025, SportEasy rolled out a redesign of the event creation page to improve the user experience and introduce new features.
In this article, you’ll find an overview of the event creation flow, both on desktop and on the mobile app, with a focus on what’s new.
As features are similar on desktop and mobile, some steps overlap. However, screens and access paths may differ depending on the device.

Creating an event on desktop 🖥️
Here’s how to create an event on desktop:

Go to the Calendar tab and click Create an event on the right side of the screen.
If you’re in the Club calendar, you’ll need to select which team the event is for.
A window will appear showing all event types.

The new event creation form opens with the following information:
Event name and description
Event date and recurrence

Event location
Example: Training session form
You can then click on Advanced settings. These allow you to configure the event based on:

Attendance management

The attendance status now includes 3 options:
Waiting for response: works the same way as the previous setup.
Present by default: when registrations open, all invited members are marked as present and can opt out.

Absent by default: when registrations open, all invited members are marked as absent and must opt in.

Waiting list
Option to enable a waiting list with a participant limit.

Registration settings

By default, registration opening is scheduled (this is the new name for automatic invitations).
If you want to manage invitations manually, simply uncheck the scheduled option.
A window showing your team roster will then appear once the form is completed.You can now choose whether or not to send a notification when registrations open.
If unchecked, members will not receive any notification when registrations open or when the event is created (neither by email nor mobile notification).

Visibility (🏆 Premium & Club feature 🏆)
Option to hide the list of attendees from members.
Once everything is set up, simply click Create the event.
Creating an event on the mobile app 📱
Here’s how to create an event on the mobile app:

Go to the Calendar tab at the bottom left of your screen and tap the + icon or Create an event.

A window will appear with all event types.

The new event creation form opens with the following information:
Event name
Event date and recurrence
Event location

Event description
You can then tap Advanced settings to configure:

💡 Good to know
The availability of event types depends on the sport configured for your team or club.
For example, most individual sports won’t have the “In-house match” event type.If Present by default is selected, the waiting list is no longer available, as it relies on the order of participant responses.
You can save your configuration preferences by checking Apply settings to future events.
