Send official club messages to your club members - 🖥️

As a Club admin, you can send official messages to all or a group of your club members. 

It's simple. Club admins can send downward messages to their club members, who can't answer this messages. This avoids club admins receiving hundreds of messages a day or creating a messaging thread with all club members, which could go sideways.

Here are a few examples of official messages:

• an announcement (championship title, new sponsor, etc.)
• club president addressing an issue
• wishes for the new year
• weekly newsletter about the week-ends game scores (every Monday at 10AM for example) 

You could also send monthly newsletters concerning club events, problems, solutions, news... 

Finally, these official messages are not part of the daily informal communication, which you can easily manage individually in each team (read more about how messaging works). 

Create and send an official message 

Downward communication is only possible from the club platform, using the website and for club admins. 

• Go to the club platform 
• Click on the messaging tab 
• Fill out the messaging thread subject 
• Fill out the sender's name 
  • It doesn't have to be the person sending the message (if a secretary is sending a message from the club president for example) 

• Select the recipients, you can choose between: 
  • All club members
  • Members from a specific team 
  • Members of a specific team role (e.g. all players) 
  • Members of a specific club role (e.g. all admins) 
  • Or, individual players 

If you accidentally select the wrong person, you can click on the cross next to their name before sending the message to delete them as a recipient.   

Important: Only members who have activated their SportEasy account will receive the message. 

• Write your message 
• You can add files if needed (photos, videos and PDFs)
• Click on Send to see a preview of the message
• Click on Send again to confirm the message 

Important:

• Messages sent from the club platform are visible to all club admins 
• Members can't answer these messages

Edit or delete an official message 

Once a message sent, it can no longer be edited. If you forgot to say something, you have two options: 

• Send a second message to complete the first one
• Delete the first message and send an entirely new one

To delete an official message: 

• Go to the message
• Click on the three dots on the top right of the screen 
• Go to the bottom of the list of recipients 
• Click on Delete conversation 

When you delete a message, it will be removed for all club members, from their message notifications. 

Interact with the message as a club member (not an admin) 

If you send a message to all club members, all members who are linked to at least one team, will receive the official message. 

They can access their messages from their team's page. Official club messages are red so members can easily tell the difference between official messages and team messages. 

Members can't answer official messages, they can only read them. 

Important: 

• A person who appears as a club member in the club database but who is not linked to a team will not receive this message. 
• A member can't see messages sent before they were a club member on SportEasy.
