Whatever your role in the team (e.g. 'player', 'coach', parent of a player') you can easily send a message on a dedicated thread for each event.
Note that if you want to send a message not directly related to an event, you can just create a specific thread from the 'Messages' tab of the app.
Here is how you can send a message on the thread of an event:

Send a message in the event thread by clicking on the 'Chat' tab on the page of the event.
You can find all the threads of the team in the 'Messages' tab of the app.
